Within the last reporting period three incidents of piracy and maritime have been reported globally.
👉 While the official account of global maritime security data remains consistent and authoritative where there are established regional centres of reporting, it is believed that official data from South and Latin America and the Gulf of Mexico remains incomplete, with official reports under representing the true nature of threat.
👉 Within the last reporting period the Callao anchorage has reported a further incident making this the 14th incident in 15 months. Callao anchorage remains the most active single anchorage area globally for maritime security incidents.
👉 West Africa MDAT-GoG have reported an incident involving a vessel boarded 140nm NW of Pointe Noire. The vessel had been operating offshore Pointe Noire since the 22nd March 23 having previously called at Douala, Lomé and Accra. Details surrounding the specific nature of the incident remain unclear at this time with reports indicating that the crew had reached the citadel.
👉 Black Sea the risk of drifting Sea Mines continues to present the most persistent threat for transiting vessels. Recent reports indicate a mine detonation destroyed a building by the shore in the vicinity of the village of Sychavka in the Odesa District.
