Video: Pirates board & loot German container ship

Ecuadorian news agency EXPRESO expreso.ec reported a piracy attack in Gulf of Guayaquil, Ecuador, in the evening Mar 6 local time.

Container feeder PACORA left Guayaquil, bound for Balboa, and was boarded by armed men when the ship was passing buoy 66.

They stayed on board for approximately 40 minutes breaking into 9 specific containers, apparently knowing which containers to open. They also seized a crew member who was in the bow area, taking his phone and radio before leaving the ship near buoy 52 after loading two boats with looted goods.

The vessel continued its voyage, and the crew are reported as safe.

The below video was made by a crew member from the bridge.
