MANILA, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said on Monday the country continues to assert its sovereignty and territorial rights despite challenges in the South China Sea.

The Philippines on Sunday accused China's coast guard of blocking and water-cannoning a Philippine military supply boat in the South China Sea.

This follows the 31st July signing ceremonies at Malacanang Presidential Palace in Manila, Philippines, which included talks between Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
