👉 On 27 May, 22, the IRGC detained two Greek flagged oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. The incident comes against the backdrop of the seizure of the Iranian crude oil tanker anchored off the Greek Island of Evia in the Aegean Sea on 26 May. Iran claimed the vessels were detained over unspecified ‘maritime violations’ and the crew of the Greek tankers have not been arrested and are being protected in accordance with international law.
